The second annual He Is Risen concert at the San Angelo RiverStage is June 5, 2021. Gates open at 6 p.m. and the show begins at 7 p.m.
Admission is FREE.
Headlining this year is Christian rapper Lucky Luciano, also known as Christian Anthony Garcia.
He describes himself as a Houston-born Mexican hip-hop artist whose rise to fame happened in the underground Houston hip hop scene in the early 2000’s. For years, he perfected his craft and wrote, produced, and released multiple albums and mixtapes with varying concepts under Empire Records. After discovering his Christian faith, Lucky Luciano switched from a street rapper to a Christian hip-hop artist, writing rap that makes him feel closer to his faith and praise God for all his blessings. His current discography, including his first Christian album was received well by his listeners, and was featured in constant rotations on Houston’s radio station NGEN 91.7 FM.
Lucky Luciano’s style of hip-hop involves upbeat and inspiring rhythm, with exhilarating elements of old school rap and gospel, all tied together by transcendent verses that take you on soulful, feel-good journey.
Six more artists join headliner Luciano, including Monica Hill and Brann Trejo, Antoine Hill, Young Bro and Zee.
The concert will feature Pastor Theodore Boone of the San Angelo Ministerial Alliance. Last year, he offered a rousing speech. Boone represents a nondemoninational, Biblical-based worldview.
He Is Risen is a project headed by Cynthia Diego and her events company Besos Events. Diego also heads the operations for her family’s business Diego’s Burritos.
“I see a lot of drugs and broken lives as a small business owner,” Diego explained. “My purpose and reasons from the heart of doing this is to bring a positive event that attracts our youth that has a strong Christian message,” she said.
Last year’s He Is Risen concert was live streamed on San Angelo LIVE!. The Live Stream reached over 50,000 video views. It will be live streamed again this year.
