Syllabus: Basics of figure drawing

Day 1
basic figure proportion , body,hands & feet
Head proportions front, profile & 3/4
Study line, contour & value to illustrate form & space.
Light and shadow analysis
Figure perspective & Foreshortening
Hands and feet
Day 2
Learn a no fail skin tone palette.
Put basics learned on day one in color
Learn shadows, color tones and highlights.

Supplies:
Bring photo references of front view standing figure &
Front, profile & 3/4 head shots. (We may not get to all views)

Drawing pad 14 X 17 or similar size. Just not a tiny one
Several practice painting canvas boards 8 X 10 or 9 X 12
Drawing pencils 2B, 4B, 6B.
Sharpener & eraser
Ruler & compass

Oil paint colors:
White Yellow Ochre
Cad red light Aliz Crimson
Viridian green Cerulean blue
Ultramarine blue

Paint brushes: Filberts size 2, 4, 6, 8
Gamsol medium
Paper towels
Containers for medium
Easel or table top easel & palette
